James B. Jordan CPA, CFE, CGMA

Mr. Jordan is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. His consulting and auditing practice is dedicated to serving only churches and their higher denominational organizations. His decades of experience at IBM and Accenture in senior management strategy and advisory services, process analysis and design, internal control, and financial consulting are used to assist churches to achieve excellence and transparency.
Mr. Jordan earned his Executive Masters of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, with international business emphasis from London Business School. His speaking engagements span the globe to six continents and dozens of countries. Mr. Jordan regularly teaches church financial management to clergy as an adjunct professor at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, Atlanta; Church Divinity School of the Pacific, Berkeley, CA; and General Theological Seminary, New York City. Mr. Jordan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the AICPA Not-for-Profit Section, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
Mr. Jordan conducts live webinars, is a frequent speaker at conferences, audits nationally, and consults internationally. He is the author of Financial Management for Episcopal Parishes, Revised Edition, 2017, Church Publishing, Inc., New York. He is in the process of writing three additional books regarding financial management for the Methodist, Baptist, and Catholic denominations.
Paul N. Hoagland

Mr. Hoagland possesses over 30 years of successful leadership, project management, process redesign, financial controls design/implementation, organizational change, and methodology development experience.
He has worked in many industries, including: not-for-profit, higher education, banking & financial services, insurance, capital markets, tech services, manufacturing, outsourcing, consulting, healthcare and distribution.
Mr. Hoagland's background as an executive with IBM Consulting, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) Consulting, Symphony Marketing Solutions, and other process-driven and methodology-reliant organizations is a very good fit for our practice. It also positions him to help your team identify, prioritize, and resolve areas of financial risk and instability using proven and battle-tested solutions.
Mr. Hoagland earned his Master’s degree from Columbia University and his Bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude) from University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
Anne Cruz

Anne worked for a family business before starting work with a privately held tax return preparation business. For eighteen years she prepared individual, corporate, and not-for-profit tax returns for thousands of clients annually. She rose through the ranks until becoming a partner with her former company. Anne joined our firm in 2019.
She is currently National Practice Manager for our separate Bookkeeping and Taxes practices. Anne is also responsible for Firm Compliance with IRS and AICPA regulations. She manages staff in our Bookkeeping Practice focused on remote support for not-for-profit organizations. Anne also manages staff in our Taxes Practice.

Paula M. Kress, MBA, CFE

Ms. Kress is a Certified Fraud Examiner possessing decades of accounting experience with medical practices, county disability boards and housing authorities across four states. In 2017 she opened and managed her own practice in Nonprofit Accounting before joining our firm in 2019.
Paula is a former Army Officer. Commissioned in 1975, she was instrumental in establishing Women’s Day in the Military and was the first Junior Officer ever appointed to an Inspector General’s Office. As an Inspector General, she was charged with inspecting for financial irregularities, troop readiness and the safety of women soldiers. Later she served as a Platoon Leader for an Army Securities Agency Company, and a Company Commander for a Logistics Group Headquarters.
Paula earned her Master’s degree from University of Oklahoma and Bachelor’s degrees from University of South Carolina (Psychology), Metropolitan State College of Denver (Computer and Management Science) and Metropolitan State College of Denver (Accounting).

Wendy has worked in many industries, including Distribution for 10 years and Healthcare for 6 years. She joined our firm in 2010 as Office Manager and Administrative Tax Processor. Wendy has also volunteered for a special needs nonprofit since 2011.

Karen worked directly with executives in the legal and retail industries early in her career. For the last 26 years she served as full-time Finance Director for a large local church using ACS software. Karen joined our firm as a Senior Consultant in 2022.
